Pain-Free Extractions

What is an Extraction?

An extraction is the removal of a tooth from the jaw. An extraction is done when a tooth has become so severely damaged that it cannot be restored. At this point one risks getting an infection inside the jawbone that surrounds the tooth that can lead to bone loss and serious infections and swelling. An extraction is the last thing our office wants to do because we are here to save your teeth not remove them.

Extractions can be done very easily with today’s technology and with absolutely no pain at all. A lot of people choose to go back to work that very same day with no need of any pain medication. Usually a few advil/ibuprofen is the most you’ll need.

We believe that a bone graft should be placed in the socket where the tooth used to be. This will help it heal faster, and protect the teeth next to the extracted tooth from bone loss, gum recession, and sensitive root exposure.
